terms of use

last updated June 2026 · plain English first, legal substance throughout.

the short version

  • Use Vernettic for your own building-in-public work — don’t abuse it or break the law with it.
  • You own your content. We just host and display it.
  • Pro is billed monthly via Stripe. Cancel anytime; access runs to the end of the period.
  • No lock-in — export your data whenever you want.
  • The service is provided “as is” while we’re in early access.

1. agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Vernettic (the “Service”), operated by Vernettic (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old (or 13 in the United States) to use Vernettic.

2. what Vernettic does

Vernettic turns your GitHub commit activity into social posts, a public builder profile, a weekly digest, an embeddable roadmap, and a changelog. It extracts only commit metadata — message text and file names — and never your code. You connect the platforms you want to post to, and you control what gets published.

3. your account

  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure.
  • Provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for the OAuth connections you authorise and can revoke them at any time.
  • Tell us promptly at privacy@vernettic.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to publish unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or infringing content.
  • Post content you don’t have the right to publish, or impersonate anyone.
  • Attempt to access other users’ data, probe or breach our security, or disrupt the Service.
  • Scrape, resell, or abuse the Service or its APIs, or exceed reasonable usage in a way that degrades it for others.
  • Use the Service to send spam or violate the terms of any connected platform (LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, GitHub).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. your content

You own all content you create on Vernettic — your roadmap items, digest copy, generated posts, and subscriber list. We claim no ownership of it.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. You are responsible for ensuring your content and your use of connected platforms comply with their rules.

6. AI-generated content

Vernettic uses AI (Groq, running Llama 3) to draft posts and summaries from your commit metadata. AI output can be inaccurate or imperfect. You are responsible for reviewing posts before they are published — by default nothing publishes without your approval. You are responsible for the content you choose to publish.

7. plans, billing, and cancellation

  • Free tier — available at no cost, subject to the limits described in the product.
  • Pro — billed monthly in advance through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • Cancellation — cancel anytime from your settings. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period; it does not auto-refund the remaining days.
  • Refunds — we’re a small product in early access. If something goes wrong, email us and we’ll be fair about it.
  • Price changes — we’ll give existing subscribers notice before any price change takes effect. Founding-member pricing, where offered, is honoured as described at signup.

8. no lock-in

You can export your data — subscriber list, digest history, roadmap — at any time. We will never hold your data hostage. If we ever discontinue the Service, we will give you at least 90 days’ notice and provide a full export beforehand.

9. availability and changes

Vernettic is in early access and provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We’ll make reasonable efforts to keep the Service running and your data safe.

10. disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI-generated content is accurate or that posting via third-party platforms will always succeed.

11. limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or business, even if advised of the possibility. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and EU/UK consumers retain their statutory rights.

12. indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vernettic and its operators from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. termination

You may stop using and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms others or us. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy (some records, such as billing, are retained where legally required).

14. changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we’ll notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree, delete your account before then.

15. governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here affects mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

16. contact
